The Eleanor Palmer Competition and Social Evening on 31 July attracted a record crowd of 83 members and 13 guests. The hall was bursting at the seams! Not only was there a huge variety of artwork on display, but the work submitted was of a truly high standard this year. 63 works were accepted.
Thank you to everyone who took part; the success of the evening was surely due to the wonderful atmosphere and air of expectation of all those who attended. Congratulations to the winner of the trophy, Bill Brown, a most deserving winner, who entered his beautiful landscape in oils entitled, Kommetjie.
Congratulations also to Lyn Northam, who won second prize, Laura Wenman third and Grazyna Janik fourth. Our four top prize-winners all received vouchers for the Deckle Edge. Fifth place went to Geoff Price, sixth to Christel Read, seventh to Adele van den Berg and eighth to Elva Palombo. Margie Brunner and June Hofmeyr tied for 9th position.
