Wyn went to a great deal of effort to show us how she works, and prepared canvasses in advance showing her still life in its various stages; first an oil sketch, then with the colours blocked in, followed by more detailed canvasses. She painted on each one at the demo, showing how she applied the paint, and then moved on to the next stage. She told us that she likes to paint simple subject matter, and chose a favourite jug with some cloves of garlic. As we watched, the jug and garlic emerged from the blocked in colours and lines. Wyn has a unique style and it was wonderful to see how she actually works.
