We were extremely privileged to have Richard Rennie present a Watercolour Demonstration for our members at our August Monthly Meeting. As many of our members will know, Richard is an approachable, interesting and most irreverent speaker! He challenged many of our artists’ sacred cows: Advising us against good brushes or ever changing our water! He had innumerable tips and suggestions, from mixing one’s own “jaune brilliante”, to avoiding “cauliflowers” and “muddiness”. And what paintings he produced in the short time! Two beautiful watercolour landscapes, one warm and one cool, emerged before our eyes from Richard’s long-suffering brush! Several of our members were treated to more of his generous advice in a workshop held over the weekend that followed.
